Microsoft revealed specs and pricing for its new Nvidia RTX Spark-based AI PCs on Wednesday at an event in San Francisco. The Surface Laptop Ultra starts at $2,600, with a more powerful version from $3,700 and top configurations reaching $5,900; Microsoft says the highest-end model is already out of stock. A Surface RTX Spark Dev Box workstation starts at $6,000 and ships with VS Code, GitHub Copilot CLI, WSL and PowerShell 7.
The machines run AI models locally across CPU, GPU and unified memory with upgraded cooling. Dell also announced the XPS 16 Creator Edition at $3,800, available for preorder at Best Buy with delivery later in October.
A revamped Windows 11 adds "Execution Containers", which make it easier to sandbox AI agents and which Microsoft says will come to all Windows 11 users. Microsoft is also offering up to $1,000 off for trading in a MacBook Pro.
