Free online video editor with a real multi-track timeline

TechTools Video Editor brings desktop-class editing — the kind you know from Sony Vegas, Premiere or DaVinci — into the browser. Everything runs on your machine: decoding, GPU effects, audio mixing and the final H.264 encode. No upload, no queue, no watermark, no account.

Multi-track timeline

Unlimited video and audio tracks, drag & drop, trim, split, ripple delete, snapping to edges and markers, in/out range, corner fade handles, linked audio, markers and beat grids.

100+ GPU effects

Color grading (exposure, 3-way color, temperature, 16 looks + 13 LUTs and .cube import), blurs, glow, sharpen, vignette, film grain, VHS, glitch, CRT, hologram, light leaks, lens flare, god rays, snow / rain / confetti / fireflies particles, sketch, oil paint, thermal, kaleidoscope, fisheye, droste, chroma / luma / color-range key, drop shadow, outline, rounded corners, polaroid and more — all keyframable.

60+ transitions

Crossfade, dips, wipes, iris, clock, blinds, slides, zoom, spin, cube, flip, page curl / peel, glitch, ripple, burn, light leak, film roll, shatter, ink bleed, kaleidoscope and noise dissolves with adjustable duration, easing and parameters — or apply a crossfade to every cut with one click.

Titles & subtitles

40+ animated title templates (lower thirds, cinematic titles, neon, typewriter, memes, breaking news, social badges, countdown), 30 fonts, stroke, shadow, boxes and gradients. Import SRT/VTT subtitles as editable clips and export them back.

Frequently asked questions

Is this video editor really free and private?

Yes. Everything — decoding, effects, audio mixing and the final encode — runs in your browser on your own GPU. Your files are never uploaded to a server, there is no signup and no watermark.

Which formats can I import and export?

Import MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV, MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG, FLAC, JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF and more. Export MP4 (H.264 + AAC), WebM (VP9 + Opus), MOV, animated GIF, WAV audio or a PNG still — up to 4K.

Does it have a multi-track timeline like Sony Vegas or Premiere?

Yes. Add unlimited video and audio tracks, drag, trim, split, ripple-delete, snap to edges and markers, set in/out points, fade with the corner handles and drop transitions on cuts.

Can I animate effects and text with keyframes?

Every position, scale, rotation, opacity, mask and effect parameter can be keyframed with linear, ease, bounce or elastic easing. Titles also come with built-in in/out animations.

Is there green-screen (chroma key) support?

Yes — the Chroma Key effect removes a key colour with tolerance, softness, spill suppression and edge feather, all rendered on the GPU in real time.

Can it generate subtitles from speech automatically?

Yes. The Auto subtitles quick tool runs OpenAI Whisper locally in your browser (WebAssembly/WebGPU, no upload): pick the language and model size, and it creates editable subtitle clips with correct timing, TikTok-style word captions if you like, plus a transcript editor and SRT/TXT export.

What happens to my project when I close the tab?

Projects and imported media are autosaved to your browser's local storage (IndexedDB). Reopen the page and continue where you left off, or export a .ttvp.json project file as a backup.
