The conversions people reach for most often — all of them supported here, free and without an account.
Conversions stay within a category. A video converts to any other video format, but not into an audio file — so extracting an MP3 out of an MP4 is not something this tool does yet.
Drag and drop it onto the upload area above, or click to browse. Files up to 16 MB are accepted.
The dropdown fills automatically with every format your file can become — you never have to guess what is compatible.
Hit Convert File. The work runs server-side on ImageMagick, ffmpeg or pandoc, which usually takes a few seconds.
Save the converted file from your private download link. It is deleted automatically within 24 hours.
The most common reason a conversion disappoints is picking the wrong target. Here is the short version of what each format is actually good at.
| If you want to… | Convert to | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Share a photo anywhere | JPG | Universally supported and small. The safe default for photographs. |
| Keep a transparent background | PNG | Lossless with real transparency — right for logos, icons and screenshots. JPG cannot hold transparency at all. |
| Make web images smaller | WebP | Typically 25–35 % smaller than JPG at the same quality, with transparency support. Every current browser reads it. |
| Play a video on any device | MP4 | The one video format phones, TVs, browsers and editors all accept. Convert MOV, MKV, AVI, WMV or FLV to MP4 when something refuses to play. |
| Embed video on a website | WebM | Smaller than MP4 for the same quality and built for the web, though older devices may not play it. |
| Shrink an audio file | MP3 | Plays on literally everything. Converting FLAC or WAV to MP3 typically cuts the size by 80–90 %. |
| Edit audio without quality loss | WAV or FLAC | Both are lossless. WAV is uncompressed and universally editable; FLAC stores the same audio in roughly half the space. |
| Send a document that must look identical | Layout and fonts are locked in, so it looks the same on every machine. Best for invoices, contracts and CVs. | |
| Let someone edit the text | DOCX | Opens in Word, Google Docs, LibreOffice and Pages. Convert PDF to DOCX when you need to change wording. |
| Open a spreadsheet in Excel | XLSX | Keeps formatting and multiple sheets. CSV is plain text — fine for importing data, useless for layout. |
Drop your file onto the upload area (or click to browse), choose the target format, and click Convert File. When it's done, download the converted file.
Yes, it's completely free with no signup and no software to install.
35 formats in five categories: images (JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF, BMP, TIFF, WebP), audio (MP3, WAV, FLAC, AAC, OGG, WMA, OPUS, MP2), video (MP4, AVI, MOV, MKV, WebM, WMV, FLV, M4V, MPG, MPEG, 3GP), documents (PDF, DOCX, TXT, HTML, Markdown, RTF, ODT) and spreadsheets (CSV, XLSX). Every format converts to every other format in the same category.
You can convert files up to 16 MB each.
Your file is converted on our server using professional tools (ImageMagick, ffmpeg, pandoc). The uploaded copy is removed right after conversion, and the converted result is only reachable through your own private download link — never shared or indexed. Results are automatically deleted within 24 hours, so download yours before then.
No. Everything runs from your browser — you upload a file, the conversion happens on our server, and you download the result.
No. There is no signup and no login — open the page, convert, download. Nothing is tied to an account.
Not yet. Conversions run within a category — a video converts to any other video format, an audio file to any other audio format, but a video cannot currently be turned into an audio-only file. Video-to-audio extraction is on the list.
Yes. Upload the PDF and pick DOCX as the target. The text is extracted and rebuilt as an editable document — bear in mind that complex page layouts, columns and images will not survive exactly, because a PDF stores a picture of a page rather than a document structure. It also works the other way round: DOCX to PDF.
Drop the PNG onto the upload area and choose JPG from the format list. Note that JPG has no transparency — any transparent area of the PNG becomes solid, so keep the PNG if you need the see-through background.
Not currently — HEIC is not among the supported image formats. The simplest workaround is on the phone itself: Settings → Camera → Formats → Most Compatible makes the iPhone shoot JPG directly, and sharing a HEIC photo by email or to a PC usually converts it to JPG on the way out.
It depends on the target. Converting into a lossless format (PNG, TIFF, BMP, WAV, FLAC) keeps everything. Converting into a lossy one (JPG, WebP, MP3, AAC, MP4) discards some detail to save space — usually invisible once, but it stacks up if you convert the same file back and forth repeatedly. Always convert from the original whenever you can.
Usually yes. MKV, AVI, WMV, FLV and MOV files often carry codecs a given phone, TV or browser doesn't handle. Converting to MP4 re-encodes the video into the most widely supported container there is, which fixes the vast majority of "unsupported file" errors.
Yes. The converter works in any modern mobile browser on Android and iPhone — the heavy lifting happens on our server, so your device only uploads and downloads.
The usual causes are a file over the 16 MB limit, a file whose real content doesn't match its extension (a renamed file), or a corrupted source. Try re-exporting the original and converting again.
No — convert as many as you like, one file at a time, with no daily cap, watermark or paywall.
