Apple introduced the 14-inch MacBook Pro with the M6 chip, starting at $1,999, and a 24-inch iMac with M6 from $1,499. Pre-orders open October 28 and the machines reach stores on November 6. The M6 has a 12-core CPU, two more cores than before, and a 12-core GPU with a Neural Accelerator in each core.

Apple says the M6 GPU is up to 30% faster than M5, on-device AI workloads up to 25% faster, and the Neural Engine up to 1.9x faster. The MacBook Pro offers 16GB of memory, configurable to 32GB, and up to 24 hours of battery life. The iMac claims up to 5x faster on-device AI than M4 in LM Studio prompt processing. All figures come from Apple's own testing.

Both Macs ship with macOS 27, including the Siri AI assistant, which is in beta and limited to some languages. Apple says some server-side AI features have daily usage limits, and expanded access may cost money later.
