Wayve, Stellantis and NVIDIA announced on October 23 a collaboration with the French government to deploy autonomous vehicles in France and accelerate development across the EU. The announcement was made at the Assises du Véhicule Autonome in Paris.
Stellantis will contribute its L4-Ready Platforms plus vehicle engineering and manufacturing. Wayve's AI Driver will integrate NVIDIA's Halos OS running on the Hyperion compute and sensor architecture. The goal is to make France the base for an AV ecosystem spanning the full value chain, from silicon to vehicles.
French Transport Minister Philippe Tabarot said France is committed to adapting its regulatory framework to accelerate autonomous vehicle development. Local transport partners will lead talks with unions, cities and mobility stakeholders before any rollout, so the transition benefits workers, communities and riders.
