Salesforce agreed on October 20 to acquire customer-engagement platform Braze for $47.50 per share in cash, an enterprise value of roughly $5.66 billion. Braze will keep operating and building under its own name, said co-founder and CEO Bill Magnuson.

Salesforce plans to combine Braze's real-time messaging and AI decisioning tools with its Data 360, Customer 360 and Agentforce products. Braze has about 2,770 customers, including Canva, Instacart, Venmo and Urban Outfitters.

The deal needs Braze shareholder approval and regulatory clearance, and is expected to close in Salesforce's fiscal year 2028. Salesforce said it does not expect to change its fiscal 2027 guidance.
