Google held its "Made by Google" hardware event on August 12, 2026, in New York City, unveiling the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, and Pixel 11 Pro Fold. Pricing starts at $899 for the base Pixel 11, $1,099 for the Pro, and $1,299 for the Pro XL, with all three shipping August 20. Alongside the phones, Google introduced the Pixel Watch 5 at $399.
The headline feature is the new Tensor G6 chip, built on TSMC's 2nm process — the first smartphone processor to reach consumers on that node — using Gate-All-Around (GAA) transistor architecture in commercial production for the first time in a major Android chip. Google says the G6 delivers 25% faster web browsing, 15% quicker app launches, 50% more TPU compute than the G5, and runs on-device AI tasks up to 3.5 times faster while using up to 3.5 times less energy.
Camera hardware also got a refresh: the Pixel 11's Camera Bar is 40% thinner than last year's, housing a 48-megapixel main sensor with 56% more light sensitivity and a 5x telephoto enabling 30x Super Res Zoom. Pro models add Night Sight capture up to 4.5 times faster and Pro Zoom up to 120x. The launch lands as Google reported Gemini has surpassed a billion users, deepening the phones' on-device AI push even as some Watch 5 units reportedly ship without day-one Gemini support.
