How to play WarCraft III LAN over the internet
Get your LAN slot
Sign in, press Get my LAN slot, then download the Windows installer or the Linux script.
Connect
Run the installer, then double-click the TechTools War3 LAN icon.
Get the map
Download the map and copy it into the Maps folder of WarCraft III.
Play
Join a voice room, then create or join a Local Area Network game.
FAQ
Why a VPN?
WarCraft III finds LAN games by broadcast, which never leaves your home network. Our VPN is one shared LAN (OpenVPN TAP), so the broadcast reaches every player.
Windows warns about the installer. Is it safe?
It is not code-signed yet. Choose More info, then Run anyway.
Can I share my config?
No. One file is one player. Two people with the same file kick each other off.
Which version of the game?
The Frozen Throne, same patch for everyone. We play 1.27b.
