Nvidia revealed in a regulatory filing on Friday that it held roughly $21 billion worth of SpaceX stock -- 122.8 million shares -- as of June 30, 2026. The position stems from Nvidia's earlier $10 billion investment in Elon Musk's xAI as part of a $20 billion funding round in January, before SpaceX acquired xAI in a $1.25 trillion deal in February.

The SpaceX stake is now Nvidia's second-largest equity holding, trailing only its $30 billion position in Intel, itself built from a $5 billion commitment made in 2025 to co-develop PC and data-center chips. Nvidia ranks as SpaceX's sixth-biggest outside investor, according to FactSet.

The disclosure underscores how deeply intertwined Nvidia has become with Musk's business empire, even as SpaceX's own stock has slid since its June IPO -- a drop that has already trimmed the value of Nvidia's stake from the $21 billion end-of-June mark to roughly $17 billion today.
