Samsung Electronics said its third-quarter 2026 consolidated sales will be about KRW 195 trillion, with operating profit of about KRW 107.4 trillion. The figures are preliminary guidance published on October 8 and are the midpoints of internal estimate ranges, since Korean disclosure rules do not allow ranges.
Operating profit is up from KRW 89.49 trillion in the second quarter, making it the first quarter above KRW 100 trillion and the fourth straight record. Commentary attributes the surge mainly to AI data-center demand for memory, including HBM, and to tight supply that keeps chip prices high.
Division-level results and net income were due with the full earnings report and conference call on October 29. Some reports question how long such margins can last, and Samsung shares fell about 2.4% on the day of the guidance.
