Nvidia and South Korea's SK Group announced a partnership worth more than $500 billion spanning AI infrastructure and next-generation memory. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang and SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won signed letters of intent covering AI factory construction and memory supply deals, unveiled alongside South Korean President Lee Jae Myung in San Francisco.
Under the deal, SK Telecom will build a 2-gigawatt AI Cloud in Korea using Nvidia's DSX platform, deploying Nvidia Vera Rubin accelerated computing powered by SK hynix's HBM4 memory chips, with the first AI factory expected online in 2027. Separately, SK hynix and Nvidia will co-develop future high-bandwidth memory designs to secure supply of the components, which remain scarce amid the global AI data center buildout.
The agreement is part of a broader South Korean AI push that also involves Samsung, Naver, Hyundai, OpenAI, Anthropic and Broadcom, as global infrastructure spending keeps climbing. Huang did not detail how the $500 billion figure was calculated or over what timeframe the partnerships would be carried out.
