Bank of America, Blackstone, Citi and Morgan Stanley are lining up about $63 billion in financing to buy Broadcom's AI chips and networking equipment for Anthropic, Reuters reported on October 26.
The package follows a similar deal announced the same day, in which an Apollo Global Management affiliate will buy AI chips and server hardware and lease them to SpaceX, with total principal payments of about $40 billion.
Why it matters: AI labs are increasingly paying for compute through large debt and leasing structures rather than from cash on hand, shifting the cost of the AI buildout onto credit markets.
