# Anthropic Unveils Claude Duet, a Proactive Agent App, in Research Preview

Anthropic has launched Claude Duet, a proactive agent app in research preview. It sends a morning brief on key items across connected apps, monitors them through the day, completes assigned tasks and keeps working when the user is away. It is aimed at professionals and small business owners.

The app runs on its own virtual machine with a browser, is built around Claude Opus 5.5 and works with more than 6,000 connectors, including Gmail, Slack, QuickBooks, Stripe and Shopify. It is available on iOS, Android and claude.ai by waitlist, starting with US Pro and Max subscribers, at no separate price beyond existing usage limits.

Claude Duet needs approval before sending messages, making payments, signing documents or deleting anything, and is blocked from trading securities or moving money between accounts. Anthropic says it never directly sees passwords or sign-in tokens and is defended against prompt injection.
