> Adobe will replace longtime CEO Shantanu Narayen with Anil Chakravarthy on December 1, as the software giant faces investor concerns over AI disruption.

Adobe announced that Anil Chakravarthy will become President and CEO on December 1, 2026, succeeding Shantanu Narayen after 18 years in the role. Narayen will transition to Executive Chair, and Chakravarthy will join Adobe's Board of Directors.

Chakravarthy joined Adobe in January 2020 and currently leads its Customer Experience Orchestration business and worldwide field operations, driving growth in AI-powered products such as GenStudio and Brand Visibility. He previously served as CEO of Informatica and held executive roles at Symantec, VeriSign and McKinsey. Narayen said Chakravarthy is "the right person to lead Adobe's growth in an AI-driven era."

The leadership change comes as Adobe shares have slid alongside other software companies this year amid investor concerns that generative AI tools could disrupt its core creative and marketing software business. Chakravarthy said he is focused on "Adobe's leadership in the next era of agentic software."
