The deal is part of MediaTek's record $3.9 billion overseas convertible bond offering, with Alphabet also joining as an investor.\n\nUnder the agreement, MediaTek will adopt Nvidia's NVLink Fusion platform, letting hyperscalers and AI developers build custom accelerator chips that plug directly into Nvidia's rack-scale data center systems. MediaTek expects $2 billion in custom data-center ASIC revenue for 2026.\n\nThe move comes as Amazon, Google, Microsoft, OpenAI and Anthropic race to build their own AI chips to reduce reliance on Nvidia's GPUs.
