# Infineon to Acquire AI Data Center Power Startup C2i Semiconductors

Infineon Technologies is acquiring C2i Semiconductors, a Bangalore-based startup building software-defined multiphase controllers and smart power stages for AI data centers. The deal is expected to close in Q3 2026; financial terms were not disclosed.

C2i's technology combines power semiconductors with digital control and software algorithms to manage the rapidly shifting power demands of AI processors in real time. Infineon Power Systems Division president Adam White said the acquisition "will further strengthen Infineon's leadership in power solutions for AI data centers and create a new center of excellence," while C2i founder and CEO Ram Anant said joining Infineon gives his team "access to world-class semiconductor technologies, manufacturing capabilities, and global customer relationships."

The acquisition adds to Infineon's roughly 2,800-person engineering footprint in India and combines C2i's digital-power expertise with Infineon's silicon, SiC and GaN portfolio, as data center operators race to keep pace with the power draw of next-generation AI chips.
