# XPeng's Robotics Unit Raises $900 Million as IRON Humanoid Nears Mass Production

XPeng's robotics subsidiary has raised over $900 million in its first external funding round, valuing the unit at more than $6.3 billion. IDG Capital led the round, with Gaorong Ventures, Tencent and Alibaba also participating — XPeng calls it the largest single private-equity raise yet in China's embodied-intelligence sector.

The funding backs the IRON humanoid robot, which packs 76 degrees of freedom across its body and 21 in each hand, a fully enclosed flexible-lattice skin, and three in-house Turing AI chips delivering a combined 2,250 TOPS to run its physical-AI model on-device. XPeng plans to lean on its automotive supply chain for "automotive-grade" mass production.

Mass production is set to begin by the end of 2026, starting with deployment across XPeng's own stores and campuses, before commercial deliveries in China and overseas markets follow in 2027. The company is targeting over 1,000 units a month initially, with a long-term goal of 1 million units by 2030.
