The broadcast features fully AI-generated anchors delivering stories in real time, with no human presenter on screen at any point.\n\nFounded in 2021 by former Snap engineers Gaurav Misra and Dwight Churchill, Mirage has raised roughly $175 million to date, including a $75 million round in March 2026, and already runs a studio platform that generates AI actors and marketing videos for brands. Earlier attempts at AI-anchored news — from the LA startup Channel 1, Kuwait's state news agency, and Indian broadcaster Aaj Tak — never sustained continuous live broadcasting at scale, which is what sets Mirage's launch apart.\n\nThe debut stream drew about 50,000 viewers on X, with the announcement post reaching 824,000 impressions. The launch reopens a familiar question for synthetic media: whether audiences will trust news delivered by a face that doesn't exist, reading stories it didn't investigate, with expressions it doesn't feel."}}
