It reaches a power conversion efficiency of 7.16%, about 29% higher than conventional titanium-dioxide photoelectrodes, and it can flag hydrogen sulfide exposure in roughly 9 seconds. In durability tests it kept about 80% of its performance after more than 1,500 bending cycles and 20 washes.\n\nBecause the fiber needs no external battery, the team says it could be woven into work uniforms or protective gear to give industrial workers a self-powered early-warning system. The results were published in the Chemical Engineering Journal on June 12, 2026."}}
